The Select Board shall appoint a minimum of a five-member,
up to a maximum of a seven-member, Building and Needs Assessment Committee
to make recommendations about the locations of buildings and/or needs
of the Town. The Select Board is authorized to appoint one additional
member for an initial term ending on June 30, 1999, and another additional
member for an initial term ending June 30, 2000.
The Select Board shall appoint one member for one
year, two members for two years and two members for three years. Thereafter,
appointments, except to complete unexpired terms, shall be made for
three years. The Select Board may also appoint as many as two employees
working in a Town building which is the subject of a building project
to serve as ex officio members of this Committee.
The Building and Needs Assessment Committee shall
serve as the Building Committee for all Town building projects not
having a separately established Building Committee; however, the Building
and Needs Assessment Committee shall not serve as the Building Committee
for a schoolhouse project unless at least one of its members is either
a member of the School Committee or a designee of the School Committee.
