All full-time employees who retire and separate from the Village of Endicott with at least 10 years of continuous full-time employment shall be eligible for health insurance coverage through the Village of Endicott.
The Village of Endicott will pay 89% of the annual premium of said health insurance coverage and the former employees shall pay 11% of the health insurance coverage.
A. 
Upon the death of the former employee who received health insurance coverage through the Village of Endicott, the surviving spouse of the former employee, if any, shall be eligible for continued health insurance coverage pursuant to the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1989 (COBRA).
B. 
The surviving spouses shall not be eligible for any further health insurance coverage from the Village of Endicott when COBRA-mandated benefits expire.
This article shall take effect October 1, 2004, for surviving spouses of former eligible employees.
This article is subject to the terms of applicable collective bargaining agreements, if any.
