A. 
Any lawful uses existing in any buildings and/or premises at the time of the passage of this chapter and/or amendments thereto and not conforming to the regulations of the use district in which they are maintained may be continued therein.
B. 
A nonconforming use shall not be changed or extended, nor shall any building be constructed or enlarged to continue or extend a nonconforming use, except by the consent of the Board of Appeals.
C. 
No nonconforming use, if changed to a conforming use, shall thereafter be changed back to a nonconforming use. Whenever a nonconforming use has been discontinued for a period of six months, such nonconforming use shall not thereafter be resumed, and the future use shall be in conformity with the zone in which the property is located. In case a building devoted to a nonconforming use shall be more than 50% destroyed by fire or other cause, the same shall not be restored for a nonconforming use, and the use of the premises shall thereafter be in conformity with the zone in which the property is located, unless the Board of Appeals shall grant special consent for such restoration for the nonconforming use.

D. 
On premises devoted to a nonconforming use, a sign of reasonable size and location may be erected, provided that the permit of the Board of Appeals shall be obtained, which permit shall specify the size and location of the proposed sign, and provided also that such sign shall also conform with all other ordinances of the Village as to construction and material.
