A. 
The violation of any provision of this chapter, except for a violation of Article IV of this chapter, shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding $250 or by imprisonment not exceeding 15 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Where the person who violates this chapter has been previously convicted of one or more violations of the chapter within five years last preceding the date of such violation and is subsequently convicted thereof, such violation shall be punishable by a fine of not less than $250 nor more than $500 or by imprisonment not exceeding 15 days, or both such fine and imprisonment.
B. 
The violation of any provision Article IV of this chapter shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding $2,500 or by imprisonment not exceeding 15 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Where the person who violates this chapter has been previously convicted of one or more violations of the chapter within five years last preceding the date of such violation and is subsequently convicted thereof, such violation shall be punishable by a fine of not less than $2,500 nor more than $5,000 or by imprisonment not exceeding 15 days, or both such fine and imprisonment.
