East Norriton Township shall endorse the Articles of Agreement as drafted by a committee of the Consortium communities.[1]

Editor's Note: The preamble to this chapter reads as follows:
"WHEREAS, the Townships of Abington, Cheltenham, Lower Gwynedd, Lower Moreland, Plymouth, Upper Dublin, Upper Merion, Upper Moreland, Whitpain, Whitemarsh and Springfield have joined as a voluntary organization to be known as the 'Montgomery County Consortium of Communities,' and
"WHEREAS, the Montgomery County Consortium of Communities, hereinafter referred to as the 'Consortium,' has undertaken several cooperative projects which have been economically advantageous to the Townships, and
"WHEREAS, the Consortium seeks to utilize the total resources of all member communities to meet the challenges of the region, seek solutions to mutual problems and to develop recommendations for ratification and implementation by member local governments, and
"WHEREAS, the Intergovernmental Cooperation Act of 1973 (Act No. 180) provides that two or more municipalities in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania may jointly cooperate and exercise the respective governmental functions, powers or responsibilities or delegate or transfer any function, power or responsibility to one or more other governmental units upon passage of an ordinance of its governing body."
The President of the Board of Supervisors and the Township Secretary shall be authorized to execute said Articles of Agreement on behalf of the Township of East Norriton.
East Norriton Township shall be an active participant in the Consortium, shall pay annual dues and shall be otherwise represented by its Township Manager or his designated representative at all meetings of the Consortium.
