A. 
The following words, as used in this chapter, shall have the meanings respectively ascribed thereto, except in those instances where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
BUILDING
Any structure used or intended to be used as a dwelling or a place of business or industry; but the word "building" shall not include any public building or any structure built as a place of worship, or any accessory building located on a lot where there is also a main building.
PERSON
Any natural person, partnership, association, firm or corporation.
B. 
In this chapter, the singular shall include the plural, the plural shall include the singular, and the masculine shall include the feminine and the neuter.
All buildings in the borough shall be numbered by the owners thereof in accordance with plans prepared by the Borough Engineer.
The Building Inspector shall be required to assign the numbers for buildings hereafter erected in the borough. Such official numbers shall be given and assigned upon blank forms provided for the purpose, with stubs to enable a record of such numbers to be maintained.
The Building Inspector shall, upon application by the owner of a building, furnish such owner with the official number for such building, and the Building Inspector may serve notice upon any owner of a building of the official number for such building. Within thirty (30) days after having been served notice of the official number of a building, the owner of such building shall place such official number, composed of digits at least two (2) inches high, to be placed or affixed so as to be visible from the street, in a permanent and durable manner, and thereafter shall continue to maintain such number in complete, legible and durable form.
Any person who shall violate or fail to conform to any provision of this chapter shall, for each and every such violation or failure to conform, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than six hundred dollars ($600.) and costs of prosecution and, in default of payment of such fine and costs, to imprisonment for not more than thirty (30) days.
