The owner of every business that shall cease to operate and/or the owner
of the building on which the sign is located shall remove all signs from the
premises for which a sign has been erected within 30 days from the time the
business ceases to operate.
Any sign in existence which advertises a business which had ceased to
operate in the premises prior to the adoption of this chapter shall be the
responsibility of the owner of the property upon which such sign exists, said
owner to remove said sign within 30 days of notice to remove such sign.
If the owner of a sign and/or the building on which the sign is located
fails to comply with the provisions of this chapter, the Construction Official
may cause such sign to be removed and all costs that are incurred by this
action will be placed as a municipal lien against the property upon which
said sign was located.
