The Town Beach is open to Old Saybrook residents, taxpayer and their guests daily, year-round, from sunrise until posted closing time. However, the Park and Recreation Commission may close the Town Beach when the use of same would endanger public safety.
The following rules and regulations are subject to the control of the lifeguards and other authorities on duty.
Swimming and bathing is restricted to designated areas.
A. 
Changing of clothes except in place provided for such purposes is prohibited.
B. 
Playing of games such as baseball or other activities that may be dangerous or disturbing to beach patrons is prohibited.)
The use of any flotation device, except United States Coast Guard approved life jackets or vest attached to the body is prohibited.
Boats are prohibited in the swimming area.
Fishing is prohibited in the swimming area.

Dogs, horses, ponies, pets, and other animals will not be permitted anywhere on beach property; provided, however, that during the period from October 15 through May 1, the owner or keeper of a dog shall not be prohibited from transporting a leashed dog across beach property for the purpose of accessing the area below the mean high-water mark.
No crockery or glassware is permitted on the sandy area of the beach.

Any person or persons violating any of the rules and regulations shall be subject to arrest and a fine not to exceed $100 for each violation of any rule or regulation so adopted and posted.
