As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings
indicated:
ASSISTED LIVING FOR THE ELDERLY
Dwelling units for elderly occupancy in two- or three-storied structures,
which provide three meals per day, personal care services, transportation
and housekeeping services.
ASSISTED LIVING SERVICES
Nursing services and assistance with activities of daily living provided
to clients living within a managed residential community having supportive
services that encourage clients primarily age 55 or older to maintain a maximum
level of independence. Routine household services may be provided as "assisted
living services" by the assisted living services agency or by the managed
residential community as well as providing an alternative for elderly persons
who require some help or aid with activities of daily living or nursing services
in order to remain in their private residential units within the managed residential
community. Services are defined and/or described in regulations of Connecticut
State Agencies and/or future federal guidelines that may be promulgated regarding
assisted living services or facilities.
