As used in this article, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
Any and all kitchen refuse, rejected or waste food, meats,
fish, fowl, offal, carrion or anything whatsoever which will or may
decompose and become foul, offensive, unsanitary or dangerous to health.
Old or scrap copper, brass, rope, rags, batteries, paper,
trash, rubber debris, waste or junked, dismantled or wrecked automobiles,
or parts thereof, iron, steel, other old or scrap ferrous or nonferrous
material, hay, straw, shavings, ashes, rubbish, containers, boxes,
glass, cans, bottles or any item whatsoever placed, dumped or left
at the Town sanitary landfill.
It is unlawful to deposit or dump or accumulate or suffer or
allow or permit garbage or refuse, as defined in this article, to
accumulate upon any premises or public street or public alley within
this Town, and any accumulation of refuse or garbage on any street,
alley or premises within the Town is declared to be a nuisance and
is prohibited. All garbage or refuse shall be deposited in cans described
in this article, and the cans shall be emptied not less than once
a week.
It is unlawful to dispose of garbage or refuse within the Town
by burning, or to cause, suffer, allow or permit the burning of garbage
or refuse within the Town.
All garbage and refuse cans used within the Town shall have
watertight lids designed to prevent the escape of garbage and refuse
and to prevent flies and other insects from having access to the garbage
and refuse. The lids shall be in use whether or not any garbage or
refuse is deposited within the cans.
