§ 52-1 Establishment; membership; terms.

A Planning Board is established under the provisions of MGL C. 41, § 81A (Acts of 1936, Ch. 211), with all the powers and duties therein and in any existing bylaws of the Town provided, to consist of five members[1] to be elected by ballot at the Annual Town Meeting in February 1946, one for a term of one year, one for a term of two years, one for a term of three years, one for a term of four years and one for a term of five years and thereafter in accordance with the provisions of the statute.[2]

[1] Editor's Note: The Town voted 5-13-1980 ATM, Art. 30, to increase the number of members of the Planning Board from five to seven members, effective at the next Annual Town Meeting.

[2] Editor's Note: The Town voted 5-13-1980 ATM, Art 29, to elect members of the Planning Board for terms of three years, so arranged that the term of at least one member will expire each year, commencing with the next Annual Town Meeting.
