Every claim against the Borough shall be rendered
on a bill form provided by the Borough and shall be certified to by
the claimant and delivered to the Borough Clerk or such other person
as may be directed by the Mayor and Council.
The Borough Clerk, upon receipt of such claim, shall
forthwith present the claim to the appropriate officer or employee,
designated by the Borough Council, for certification.
The Borough Clerk shall thereafter present the claim
to the chairman of the committee responsible for the claim's being
incurred, who, if satisfied with the propriety of the claim, shall
approve the same and return it to the Borough Clerk. The approval
of the Mayor shall not be required.
The claims shall be presented by the Borough Clerk
at the next regular meeting for the formal approval of the Mayor and
Council, and, after approval, shall be listed in the minutes and thereafter
presented to the Collector-Treasurer for payment in due course.
