The position of Chief Financial Officer is hereby created in and for the Borough of Oradell, subject to the provisions of this article and N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140.1.
The Chief Financial Officer shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the approval of the Council, and the term of office shall be at the pleasure of the Borough Council unless and until tenure has been granted pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140.1.
The Chief Financial Officer shall be responsible for any and all collections and disbursements of municipal finances and, when necessary, supervise and advise the Office of Tax Collections in order to create complete cooperation with the Office of Chief Financial Officer concerning finances. The Chief Financial Officer shall be responsible for the supervision and direction of all municipal employees in the offices of tax collection and Chief Financial Officer.
The Chief Financial Officer shall receive such compensation as shall be prescribed from time to time by the salary ordinance of the Borough of Oradell.
