There is hereby established a Shade Tree Committee
for the Borough of Oradell to be known as the "Shade Tree Committee
of the Borough of Oradell."
The Shade Tree Committee shall make recommendations
to the Mayor and Council concerning the planting, maintenance, control,
protection and improvement of shade trees and shrubbery along public
streets and roads and public places within the Borough of Oradell.
A.
The Shade Tree Committee shall consist of a minimum
of three, but not exceed seven members, who shall be residents of
the Borough of Oradell. The members of the Shade Tree Committee shall
be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Borough Council
for a term of one year to serve without salary. In addition to the
seven members, the Oradell Superintendent of Public Works shall serve
as an ex officio, nonvoting member of the Committee.

B.
Any vacancy occurring for any reason shall be filled
for the unexpired term by appointment of the Mayor.
C.
The Shade Tree Committee shall organize annually and
from its members elect a Chair.
The duties of the Shade Tree Committee shall
be as follows:
A.
To assess, inspect and inventory all shade trees and
shrubbery located along public streets and roads and public places
within the Borough of Oradell.
B.
To make recommendations to the Mayor and Council with
respect to the planting, maintenance, control, protection and improvement
of such shade trees and shrubbery.
C.
To work in concert with such municipal departments
and employees as may be directed by the Mayor and Council.
D.
To work in concert with such outside contractors,
vendors and suppliers as may be directed by the Mayor and Council.
The Shade Tree Committee shall keep complete
and accurate records of its meetings and activities and shall make
an annual report to the Mayor and Council.
