There is hereby established a Senior Citizens Advisory Committee for the Borough of Oradell to be known as the "Senior Citizens Advisory Committee of the Borough of Oradell."
The Senior Citizens Advisory Committee shall make recommendations to the Mayor and Council concerning issues having a significant impact upon the health, welfare and safety of senior citizens residing within the Borough of Oradell.
A. 
The Senior Citizens Advisory Committee shall consist of up to, but not exceed, nine members, who shall be residents of the Borough of Oradell. The members of the Senior Citizens Advisory Committee shall be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Borough Council for a term of one year to serve without salary.

B. 
Any vacancy occurring for any reason shall be filled for the unexpired term by appointment of the Mayor.
C. 
The Senior Citizens Advisory Committee shall organize annually and from its members elect a Chair.
The duties of the Senior Citizens Advisory Committee shall be as follows:
A. 
To identify and assess issues having a significant impact upon the health, welfare and safety of senior citizens residing within the Borough of Oradell.
B. 
To make recommendations to the Mayor and Council with respect to such issues.
C. 
To assist the Borough of Oradell in establishing educational, informational, recreational, or other programs established or authorized by the Borough for the benefit of its senior citizens or the community at large.
D. 
To work in concert with such municipal departments and employees, as well as outside contractors, vendors and suppliers, as may be directed by the Mayor and Council.
The Senior Citizens Advisory Committee shall keep complete and accurate records of its meetings and activities and shall make an annual report to the Mayor and Council.
