In accordance with the authority set forth in Article II, Section 203,
of the Charter of the Town of Myersville, the Mayor of the Town of Myersville
shall receive as salary and compensation for services rendered as Mayor a
sum as set from time to time by the Town Council.

In accordance with Article II, Section 203, of the Charter of the Town
of Myersville, each Council member shall receive an annual salary as set from
time to time by the Town Council; provided, however, the compensation paid
to each Council member shall be reduced as set from time to time by the Town
Council for each regularly scheduled monthly Town meeting not attended by
that Council member. Each Council member shall also receive a sum as set from
time to time by the Town Council for each of the following meetings which
are attended by that Council member:
A. Council of Government meetings which the Council member
is required to attend or requested by the Mayor to attend;
B. Maryland Municipal League meetings which the Council
member is required to attend or requested by the Mayor to attend;
C. Meetings of the Board of Appeals, Planning and Zoning
Commission, or other municipal body or agency to which the Council member
acts as liaison;
D. Special meetings of the Mayor and Council which are called
and approved by the Mayor;
E. Any other meeting for which a Council member requests
compensation and for which the majority of the Council votes to pay such compensation.
The Mayor and each Council member shall be paid an itinerant allowance for each mile traveled by the Mayor or Council member in order to attend those meetings listed in §
38-2. The allowance shall be the same per-mile rate as is set on the date of the meeting by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service for federal income tax purposes.
In accordance with Article II, Section 203(c) of the Charter of the
Town of Myersville, the increases in the compensation to be paid to the Mayor
and Council members set forth in this chapter shall take effect only as to
the Mayor elected at the next mayoral election and only as to the members
of the next succeeding Council after April 23, 1996.
