[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Victor 10-15-1990 by L.L. No. 4-1990. Amendments noted where applicable.]
It is hereby declared to be the policy of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Victor to provide for the safety, health and general welfare of the residents of this Village and the users of the streets, parking lots, sidewalks and other public areas of the Village. By this chapter, the Board of Trustees seeks to prevent any residents or users of the streets, parking lots, sidewalks and other public areas from sustaining personal injury or property damage as a result of the use and operation of skateboards.
For the purpose of this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
SKATEBOARD
A single, narrow platform which is mounted on roller-skate wheels, having no mechanism or other device with which to steer or control the direction of movement thereof while being used, operated or ridden.
A. 
No person shall use, operate or ride upon any skateboard within the Village of Victor in any area that is either a municipal parking lot or any access road thereto.
B. 
No person shall loiter or stand about in any of the above-mentioned areas for the purpose of viewing others operating or riding skateboards or other devices, including but not limited to bicycles.
A. 
This chapter may be enforced by any peace officer or police officer.
B. 
Any police officer or peace officer observing a person under 16 years of age violating any provision of this section shall take possession of the skateboard and keep possession of said skateboard until ordered to release the same by either the Village Board of Trustees or a court of appropriate jurisdiction.
C. 
Any person 16 years of age or older who violates any provision of this chapter shall be subject to the same sanctions set forth in § 135-4B herein and also be deemed liable to a fine of not more than $250 and/or a period of imprisonment of up to 15 days.
