An Economic Development Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Committee") is hereby established for and in the Township of Mantua. The Economic Development Committee shall succeed to all the power, rights and duties of the former Business and Industry Advisory Board.

The duties of the Economic Development Committee shall be to:
A. 
Design a promotional campaign to be implemented by the Township Committee to encourage commercial and industrial development within the Township.
B. 
Act as liaison between potential developers and the Township Committee, the Planning Board, the Zoning Board of Adjustment, the Environmental Commission and the Municipal Utilities Authority.
C. 
Undertake such other activities in the attraction of commercial and industrial development as the Township Committee may from time to time authorize by resolution.
The Committee shall consist of as many members as the Township chooses to appoint. Members shall be appointed by, and serve at the pleasure of, the Township Committee. One appointee shall be designated by the Township Committee to serve as Chairman. The Mayor shall serve as an ex officio member of the Committee.
The Township Solicitor, Engineer and Planner shall be available to the Committee for consultation, at the request of the Committee.
