[Adopted 1-24-1989 (Ch. 30, Art. III, of the 1978 Code)]
The Township of Mantua does hereby establish the position of Chief Financial Officer for the Township of Mantua in accordance with the authority and conditions set forth under P.L. 1988, c. 110 (N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140.1 et seq.), referred to above,[1] to perform the duties and to carry out the responsibilities set forth in N.J.S.A. 52:27BB-26 et seq.

Editor's Note: The preamble of this ordinance stated as follows: "Whereas, Section 5 of the Public Laws 1988, Chapter 110, amending Public Law of 1971, Chapter [4]13 and Public Law of 1977, Chapter 39, and supplementing Chapter 9 and Title 40A of the New Jersey Statutes, mandates that each municipality establish the position of Chief Financial Officer to carry out the responsibilities set forth in N.J.S.A. 52:27BB-26 et seq."
The Chief Financial Officer shall be compensated consistent with the present compensation of the Treasurer of the Township of Mantua with any modifications thereafter to be established by the annual Salary Ordinance.[1]

The term of the position of Chief Financial Officer shall be four years with each term ending on December 31 of the fourth year following appointment.
