Operation of snowmobiles on highways and public ways of the Town and of the County of Chemung shall be subject to the applicable provisions of Articles 21 through 27 of the Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Law, the rules and regulations of the Office of Parks and Recreation, and the rules, restrictions and conditions set forth in §§
439-5 and
439-7 of this chapter.
A. Town streets and highways. Only the following streets
or highways or portions thereof of the Town are hereby designated for the
purpose of operation of snowmobiles on the shoulders and inside banks thereof
as authorized by § 25.05 of the Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation
Law.
(1) Kinner Hill Road and all roads off it (including Widger
Hill Road and Strock Road) to the state line and Steuben County Line.
(2) All roads off Christian Hollow Road except Miller Hill
Road.
(6) Mt. Zoar Road from Timber Lane up to Dutch Hill Road.
(8) Holden Road from Mt. View to Beckwith Road.
(9) Beckwith Road from Holden Road through and including
Pine Acres Road.
(13) Mt. View Drive from Elmira Street to Holden Road.
(17) Manchester Road, except that portion thereof from the
easterly boundary line of premises owned by Robert Manchester to the southerly
terminus of said road.
B. County streets and highways. Only the following streets
or highways or portions thereof of the County of Chemung are hereby designated
for the purpose of operation of snowmobiles on the shoulders and inside banks
thereof as authorized by § 25.05 of the Parks, Recreation and Historic
Preservation Law:
(4) Bird Creek Road from the Pennsylvania state line to the
intersection of Pine Hill Drive;
(5) Mt. Zoar Road from the intersection of Timber Lane to
a point where the same intersects that portion of Mt. Zoar Road which is designated
as a Town Highway.
No person shall operate a snowmobile on any of the above-designated
Town highways between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., except that on
Friday and Saturday the prohibited hours shall be between 1:00 a.m. and 7:00
a.m.
