[Adopted 7-10-1989 by Res. No. 174 (Secs. 3-1 to 3-3 of the 1979 Code)]
[Amended 4-24-2000 by Ord. No. 2000-7]
The following annual fees for retail licenses pertaining to the sale of alcoholic beverages issued by the Town of Johnston pursuant to R.I.G.L. § 3-7 are hereby amended as follows:
[Amended 3-8-2010 by Ord. No. 2010-5]
In addition to the above-stated fees, the license holder shall pay all advertising costs associated with their license which are required by Rhode Island law.
Licensees who shall fail to secure licenses within 10 days of the date when required so to do shall have such licenses revoked.
Anyone filing a petition for a change of zone, an application for a new liquor license, or an application for a transfer of a liquor license shall deposit with the Town Clerk's office a certified check, or cash, in the amount of $200 to cover the costs for advertising and letters to abutters. This, in the case of petitions for changes of zones, will be in addition to the $200 filing fee required for same.
Should the additional $200 deposit be more than the final cost for the advertising and letters to abutters, the difference will be refunded to the petitioner or licensee, and should the costs for these be more than the $200 deposited, the petitioner or licensee will be billed for the difference.
