No person, not being at the time under police or military duty, shall discharge any rifle, gun, musket, pistol, air gun, spring gun, or other small arms, or any contrivance armed to discharge shot, bullets, arrows, darts or other missiles in the Town, subject however, to the following exceptions:
A. 
This section shall not apply to any person who shall discharge any of the weapons described upon land owned or occupied by him; provided, however, that the person who shall discharge any of the described weapons on land owned or occupied by him shall at all times be a minimum distance of 200 yards from any occupied building or premises and a minimum distance of 200 yards from any public highway.
B. 
This section shall not apply to any person who shall discharge any of the weapons described on land not owned or occupied by him only by written permission of the owner or occupant of the land on which he may shoot. Such person shall at all times carry such written permission on his person and shall show and exhibit such written permission when requested so to do; and provided further, that no one of the described weapons shall be discharged within a distance of 200 yards from any occupied building or premises and a minimum distance of 200 yards from any public highway.
C. 
This section shall not apply with regard to any waterway within the Town; provided, however, that no person, upon any waterway in the Town shall discharge any of the weapons described within the minimum distance prescribed in Subsections A and B of this section.
No person shall discharge any rifle, gun, musket, pistol, air gun, spring gun, or other small arms, or any contrivances armed to discharge shot, bullets, arrows, darts or other missiles, which shall in their flight carry over or into the land of another into which he shall not have written permission of the owner or occupant thereof to shoot. Such written permission shall be carried on the person at all times and shall be shown and exhibited upon request.
A. 
At the request of any resident of the Town, the Town Council may, in its discretion and with the permission of the owner or occupant of suitable land, designate a place where target practice with firearms or any contrivances arranged to discharge shot, bullets, arrows, darts or other missiles, may be carried on under the restrictions set forth together with such other circumstances, conditions, regulations and restrictions as the Town Council shall impose.
B. 
Such designation by the Town Council and such permission of the Town Council shall be for such a period of time as in the discretion of the Town Council may be proper and shall be subject to revocation with or without cause by the Town Council at any time.
This chapter shall be enforced by the Chief of Police and Police Department of the Town.
Anyone convicted of a violation of any of the provisions of this chapter shall be punishable as provided in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article II, of this Code.
