Any person, 14 years of age and older, is eligible
for membership in the Department. Members 14 to 15 years of age shall
be junior fire fighters, members 16 to 17 years of age shall be cadet
fire fighters and members 18 years of age and older will be considered
regular members of the Department. Persons must apply and be accepted
by the company to which application is made according to its rules
and regulations, the rules and regulations of the Department, state
law and this chapter. Participation by members must be in accordance
with Department rules and regulations, state law and this chapter.
The Chief shall have the authority to place
on probation, suspend and/or dismiss any volunteer member of any company
for violations of this chapter, state law or rules and regulations
of the Department after consultation with the company Chief. Notices
of probations, suspensions and/or dismissals shall be provided in
writing by the Chief to the member, with copies to the member's company
and to the County Administrator. The specific reasons for said probation,
suspension and/or dismissal shall be set out. The disciplined member
or his company may appeal the probation, suspension and/or dismissal
to the Warren County Fire and Rescue Advisory Committee, if said appeal
is made in writing to the Chief within 10 calendar days of notification.
The disciplinary action of the Chief shall stand unless overruled
by a majority vote of the Advisory Committee.
