The Oconto Falls Police Department shall be administered by the Mayor
of the City. The Police Department shall consist of such divisions and ranks
as deemed necessary by the Mayor and Chief of Police consistent with departmental
size, duties, statutory authority and approval by the Common Council.
The Oconto Falls Police Department shall be funded by the City of Oconto
Falls and subject to the fiscal policy of the City. The Department shall prepare
a budget annually during September for consideration by the City's Finance
Committee. The budget shall include payroll costs for staff, operating expenses
for the Department, maintenance expenses for departmental facilities, and
a capital budget. The Department's annual budget shall be subject to the approval
of the Common Council.
All persons in the City, when called upon by any police officer or City official, shall promptly aid and assist in as required and whoever shall neglect or refuse to give such aid or assistance shall be subject to the general penalty as provided in §§
1-9,
1-10 and
1-11 of the Oconto Falls Code.
