The Penn Township Municipal Building meeting rooms are for the use of the Penn Township Commissioners and others as described below in ยงย 44-4.
A.ย
The Penn Township meeting rooms are available during
normal working hours, evenings and weekends.
(1)ย
Use of the facility during nonworking hours must be submitted
in writing to the Township Manager at least 10 days in advance of the meeting
date for approval by the Penn Township Commissioners.
(2)ย
Reservations for any of the meeting rooms during normal
working hours must be made 48 hours in advance of the meeting date with the
Township Manager or his designee.
B.ย
Municipal activities take precedence over outside use
of the facility.
C.ย
The meeting rooms are not available for the regularly
scheduled meetings of any organization.
A.ย
The Penn Township Commissioners Meeting Room is available
free of charge unless cleaning is required.
B.ย
A $100 cleaning deposit will be required for activities
that include food and/or refreshments. The cleaning deposit will be returned
if no custodial services are required.
C.ย
The room must be left clean, and the garbage must be
bagged and placed in the dumpsters located on the west end of the building
near the basketball court.
Requestors shall qualify based on the following priorities: Programs,
meetings, and/or displays which are partisan, commercial (i.e. in which participants
are encouraged, either covertly or overtly, to buy a commodity or service
from the program leader or his/her organization), or which furthers one individual's
goals will not be accommodated. The following types of programs,
in priority order, are acceptable:
A.ย
First priority: Programs/displays/meetings sponsored
by Penn Township, PTARC, Penn Trafford School District, The Penn Area Library,
or a local, regional, state, national or international accredited training
organization.
B.ย
Second priority: Penn Township cultural or artistic or
related educational nonprofit programs and organizations sponsored by a Penn
Township civic, recreational or educational group.
C.ย
Third priority: Balanced presentations of controversial
issues sponsored by a governmental or subsidiary agency.
The following rules are to be observed in the use of the meeting room.
A.ย
No smoking is permitted in the Township Municipal Building.
B.ย
Light refreshments (excluding alcohol) and food may be
served with prior approval and payment of a $100 cleaning deposit (refunded
if no custodial work is needed).
C.ย
Any group using a meeting room will be responsible for
setting up the room according to its own needs and must restore the room to
the order in which it was found.
D.ย
Groups requiring audiovisual equipment must make their
own arrangements; the Township does not provide this equipment.
E.ย
Youth organizations must have at least one adult (21
years or older) per every 10 youth present at all times.
F.ย
If the meeting is canceled, the Township Manager or his
designate should be notified as far in advance as possible.
G.ย
The group or organization is responsible for the repair
of any damage or vandalism that occurs during its event.
H.ย
The Township is not responsible for lost or stolen articles.
I.ย
For use of the building during nonworking hours, the
renter assumes full responsibility for turning out lights and properly securing
the entrance doors.
J.ย
All meetings or presentations will be open to the public
should anyone wish to attend.
K.ย
Exceptions to these rules are possible only by written
application to the Penn Township Commissioners.
L.ย
No group or organization using a meeting room may discriminate
on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender, religion, age or handicapped
status in the provision of services or attendance at any meeting or presentation.
