In the event that the Essex County Sheriff's Department Office
of Emergency Management declares an emergency due to disaster situations
such as fires, floods, accidents, terrorist attacks, storms, or other
events and conditions that may interfere with the free flow of traffic,
there shall be no parking on streets or sections of streets where
emergency "No Parking When Emergency Declared" signs are displayed
or as otherwise directed during the emergency. Any unoccupied vehicle,
whether parked or standing, that shall be in violation of this section
shall be deemed a nuisance and a menace to the safe and proper regulation
of traffic and shall be removed.
Parking shall be prohibited at the following locations upon
declaration of an emergency by the County of Essex:

Upon the declaration of an emergency by the Chief of Police
or by the Borough Office of Emergency Management, there shall be no
parking upon streets or parts of streets where temporary emergency
no-parking signs are displayed. The Chief of Police, or, in his/her
absence, the ranking police officer, is authorized to direct the posting
of said emergency no-parking signs when weather conditions, accidents,
fires or public celebrations dictate or require the avoidance of hazards
or other conditions which interfere with the free flow of traffic.
