Any residential, commercial or other structure erected or to be erected within the Borough of Haddonfield shall display identification numbers as provided herein and in accordance with the specifications provided herein.
The street number of such property shall be determined by the Borough Assessor and given in writing to such owner and shall be by him or them placed upon or in the front portion of the building facing the street, the property street address number as assigned by the Borough. Such number shall be of sufficient size (minimum four inches) and in such location as to be easily seen (contrasting colors) and read from the street.
The system for determining said numbers shall be as follows:
A. 
The railroad shall be the line of beginning for the numbering of all the streets, avenues, highways, or crossings, the same said numbers extending northeast and southwest therefrom, the odd numbers to be on the northeast side of said streets, avenues or highways and the even numbers on the southwest side of the same.
B. 
Kings Highway shall be the line of beginning for numbering of all streets, avenues, highways, or crossings the same said numbers extending northwest and southeast therefrom, the odd numbers to be on the northeast side of said streets, avenues or highways and the even numbers on the southwest side of the same.
C. 
The numbering shall be by blocks or squares, and the initial number shall be at the railroad and Kings Highway extending in either direction, increasing by two for each lot set forth, to the next cross street. The initial numbers shall increase by hundreds at each cross street to the end.
