As used in this chapter, the following terms have the meanings indicated:
MOTORBOAT
Any boat or other means of locomotion on water, propelled other than by sail or muscular power.
No person shall operate any motorboat on any of the waters within the limits of this Township at a speed greater than five miles per hour and in no event at such a speed or in such a manner as to cause excessive wash or so as to cause injury to the banks of the stream or to piers, wharves, canoes and other property or persons on or in the waters.
No person shall operate a motorboat in such a manner as to cause excessive noise to emanate therefrom to the annoyance of any person.

Any person violating any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be subject to one or more of the following, at the discretion of the Judge before whom such conviction shall be had: a fine not exceeding $2,000, imprisonment in the county jail for not more than 90 days or a period of community service not exceeding 90 days. The Township waives the additional fine for a violation of an ordinance within one year of a previous violation of the same ordinance, provided in N.J.S.A. 40:49-5.
