Pools shall be properly maintained to prevent
the existence or presence of any water in which mosquito larvae may
mature and grow or exist. A property owner shall maintain his pool
by performing the following maintenance activities:
A. Treat the pool with appropriate chemicals and circulate
its water on a daily basis.
B. Remove leaf debris regularly as leaves provide shelter
for mosquito larvae.
C. Use appropriate biological pesticide in the pool if
the house occupant expects not to be available for active maintenance.
D. Any pool cover must be maintained in a way to prevent
the collection of stagnant rain water.
E. Empty or cover tots' swimming or wading pools when
not in use.
All standing outdoor water vessels/containers
and tires shall be properly maintained to prevent the existence or
presence of any water in which mosquito larvae may mature and grow
or exist. A property owner shall maintain his outdoor water vessel/container
and tires by performing the following maintenance activities:
A. Empty and discard empty paint cans, buckets, old tires,
tin cans, etc.
B. Change water in birdbaths and fountains twice a week.
C. Clean clogged rain gutters and check same often.
D. Aerate ornamental ponds (water gardens) or stock with
goldfish.
E. Empty watering cans, flower pots and ceramic pots
and turn over wheelbarrows.
F. Drill holes in recycling containers.
G. Landscape so that no water collects on property.

A. No person shall provide, maintain or keep a pool in any manner on
any property unless it is maintained pursuant to this chapter.
B. It shall be the responsibility of the Municipal Code Enforcement
Officer and/or Burlington County Health Department to enforce this
chapter.
C. Any person(s) who is found to be in violation of the provisions of this chapter shall be subject to a penalty as specified in §
1-1 of the Township Code.
