[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Hamburg 2-21-1955 by L.L. No. 1-1955. Amendments noted where applicable.]
Section 243 of Article 13 of the General Municipal Law, as enacted by Section 1 of Chapter 215 of the Laws of 1917, entitled "An Act to Amend the General Municipal Law, in Relation to Playgrounds and Neighborhood Recreation Centers in Cities and Villages," as last amended by Chapter 878 of the Laws of 1953, is hereby amended to read and provide as follows.
The Recreation Commission of the Village of Hamburg is hereby established. Such Commission shall possess all the powers and be subject to all the responsibilities of local authorities under Article 13 of the General Municipal Law.
Such Commission shall consist of seven persons, who are residents of the Village of Hamburg, to be appointed by the Board of Trustees or the Village of Hamburg to serve for terms of three years or until their successors are appointed. Members of such Commission shall serve without pay. Vacancies in such Commission occurring otherwise than by expiration of term shall be for the unexpired term and shall be filled in the same manner as original appointments.
