Employee smoking policy — See Ch. 89, Art. I.
This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the "Village of Hamburg Smoke-Free Policy."
The purpose of this chapter is to preserve the public health and welfare by creating a healthier community, and a cleaner environment and by offering a role model for children by prohibiting smoking in the Village's parks and playgrounds. It is also the purpose of this chapter to allow all of the residents of the Village of Hamburg to coexist harmoniously in a manner which is mutually respectful of the interests, rights and obligations of all persons.
Smoking is prohibited in all Village parks and playgrounds, including, but not limited to, the Hamburg Swim Center, Legion Field Baseball Complex, Community Center Playground, Glen Meadows Park, Lake Street Memorial Park, Centennial Park and the Peace Park. It is also unlawful for any person to dispose of any smoking materials, including, but not limited to, cigarette/cigar butts and filters, in any place other than a designated receptacle.
Any person who shall violate any provision of this chapter shall be punished by a fine not to exceed $250.
