[Adopted 8-26-1998 by L.L. No. 3-1998 (Ch. 36, Art. I, of the 1971 Code)]
Notwithstanding the provisions of § 24 of the Town Law, the term of office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Newfane elected at the election in November 1999 and of all Town Clerks of the Town of Newfane elected thereafter shall be four years.
This article shall be subject to a mandatory referendum and shall take effect, subject to compliance with the provisions of § 23, Subdivision 1, of the Municipal Home Rule Law, when filed in the office of the Secretary of State, pursuant to § 27 of such law.[1]
