The use of surfboards and the sport commonly known as "surfing" shall be prohibited in the Borough of Beach Haven when lifeguards are on duty between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. except within any area designated for surfing by the placement of quartered black/white flags on the beach, which flags shall be placed at the discretion of the lifeguard captain.[1]

Kayaks, canoes, inflatable boats, any type of equipment utilizing paddles or oars, wind surfers, jet skis, and boats of any kind and fishing tackle are hereby prohibited in any area that is designated for surfing while surfers are utilizing said area.
