This article applies to all explosives except small arms ammunition.
The manufacture of explosives is prohibited. A permit shall be obtained from the Chief of the Fire Department, the Fire Marshal, or a deputy of either, to have, keep, use, store or transport any explosives.
All storage of explosives shall be in approved explosive magazines located at distances from neighboring buildings and highways in conformity with the American Table of Distances for storage of explosives and in amount not to exceed requirements for one eight-hour period.
Transportation of explosives in the Borough of Beach Haven must conform with state laws. (21:1-41 et seq., N.J.S.A.[1])

At least 24 hours in advance of blasting, the blaster shall give written notice specifying the location and intended time of blasting to appropriate representatives of the gas, electric, water, fire alarm, telephone, telegraph and steam utilities which operate within the municipality. In an emergency the Chief of the Fire Department, the Fire Marshal, or a deputy of either may waive the time limit and allow verbal instead of written notice to be given.
