The Borough Council shall adopt written rules
and regulations for the government and control of the Police Department,
and each member shall be presented with a copy of the rules and regulations
together with any amendments thereof or additions thereto as the same
are adopted by resolution of the Borough Council. The rules and regulations
of the Police Department heretofore adopted are hereby continued until
altered or amended in the manner aforesaid.
All matters now or hereafter made the responsibility
of the Police Department by action of the Borough Council or the Borough
Manager shall be forwarded through the Borough Manager to the Chief
of Police who shall issue the necessary instruction to the members
of the Police Department.
The Chief of Police shall have authority to
establish, issue and enforce such general and special orders or instructions
not inconsistent with this chapter as he/she shall deem necessary.
