Under the supervision of the appropriate department
head, the Senior Clerk Typist shall perform typing and other related
clerical work requiring the exercise of independent judgment and a
working knowledge of department rules, regulations and policies and/or
have charge of the work of a small group of Clerk Typists and/or have
charge of a designated phase of the typing work of the department.
The Senior Clerk Typist shall also perform other related work as required.
One year of experience in clerical work, including
typing. Successful completion of a clerical training program with
a minimum of 700 clerical training hours or 30 semester hour credits
in secretarial science from an accredited college or university may
be substituted for the experience indicated above. Other course work
may include, but not be limited to, office procedures, word processing
and business English.
The Senior Clerk Typist will be required to possess
a driver's license valid in New Jersey, only if the operation of a
vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the
essential duties of the position.
