Under the direction of the Superintendent of Public
Works, the Sanitation Driver shall drive, clean, service and make
minor repairs to a sanitation truck. The Sanitation Driver may occasionally
perform manual and unskilled laboring work in connection with sanitation
truck driving. The Sanitation Driver shall also perform other related
work as required.
One year of experience in driving a truck with tandem/dual
rear axles and a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of at least 26,000
pounds and with auxiliary equipment such as snow plow, salt spreader,
power takeoff, winch, lift body or hydraulic lifting device.
