The Village of Holley participates in the county-wide
utilization of an emergency telephone system whereby an individual
will be able to dial a 911 telephone number in the event of an emergency.
A Village-wide uniform numbering system of all buildings will enable
emergency personnel to respond efficiently and quickly to an emergency.
It is, therefore, in the best interest of the public health, safety
and welfare of the Village to enact this chapter.
As used in this chapter, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
BUILDING
The principal building or buildings on each lot and shall
not include any accessory building.
[Amended 10-12-2004 by L.L. No. 3-2004]
The Code Enforcement Officer shall be authorized
to decide which building or buildings on any particular lot shall
be numbered.
[Amended 10-12-2004 by L.L. No. 3-2004]
A. The Code Enforcement Officer shall designate separate
numbers for buildings which have no designated street number, and
he/she shall also have the authority to redesignate numbers for buildings
when deemed necessary.
B. Any property owner aggrieved by the determination
of the Code Enforcement Officer may seek review of that determination
by the Village Board upon a written submission to the Village Board
setting forth the reasons for seeking such review. The Village Board
shall be authorized to confirm or modify or change the determination
of the Code Enforcement Officer in the exercise of his/her reasonable
discretion, and such determination shall be final and binding.
It shall be the duty of every owner of a building
in the Village of Holley to cause to be displayed thereon the street
number of said building on a post, mailbox or other structure at or
within 25 feet of the curbline where the driveway or entranceway to
the building is located. At all times, the owner of a building shall
maintain such number in compliance with the provisions of this chapter.
[Amended 10-12-2004 by L.L. No. 3-2004]
The display of any house number other than the
number authorized or assigned by the Code Enforcement Officer is expressly
prohibited.
Any person, corporation, partnership or other
entity violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon
conviction, be punishable by a fine not to exceed $250. Each calendar
week or portion thereof that said violation continues shall be deemed
a separate violation.
