Village of Valley Stream, NY Administration and Enforcement

This chapter, Articles I through VI, shall be enforced by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Valley Stream under the rules and regulations adopted by it. For every violation of the provisions of the chapter, Articles I through VI, the owner, general agent or contractor, or subcontractor, lessee, or tenant of any part of a building or premises adjacent to which such violation has been committed or shall exist, and the general agent, builder, contractor or any person who commits, takes part or assists in such violation or who maintains any property adjacent to any such violation shall, for each and every violation and for each and every day that such violation continues, be subject to a fine of not to exceed $1,000 per day. In addition thereto, such owner, general agent, contractor, subcontractor, lessee, tenant, general agent, builder, contractor or any person who commits, takes part in or assists in such violation of this chapter, Articles I through VI, or any part thereof, shall be and is hereby declared to be guilty of disorderly conduct, and any person violating this chapter, Articles I through VI, or any part thereof, shall be and is hereby declared a disorderly person. In addition to the above stated fine, such person may be sentenced to up to 15 days in jail.
