As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated.
PEDDLER
A person, commonly referred to either as a "peddler" or "hawker," who goes from place to place or from house to house while traveling on the street and carries goods, wares and merchandise for the purpose of then and there selling and delivering such goods, wares and merchandise to the consumer.
PERSON
Any individual, copartnership, association, corporation or joint-stock company.
STREET
Any street, avenue, park, parkway, highway or other public place.
It shall be unlawful for any peddler and the vehicle in which he/she carries the goods, wares or merchandise to remain in one place on any street in the Borough of North Arlington, except when actually engaged in making a sale of goods, wares or merchandise.

Any person who shall violate a provision of this article or fail to comply therewith shall severally, for each and every such violation and noncompliance, forfeit and pay a penalty as provided in Chapter 1, Article I, General Penalty.
