No driveways erected in the Borough of Riverton for the purpose
of providing ingress and egress for vehicles from the public streets
across the public sidewalks to private properties shall be constructed
without first having obtained a written permit from the Streets and
Roads Engineer of the Borough of Riverton.

Such driveways shall be depressed at the curbline to the authorized
level of the watercourse and the gutterway and shall slope upward
to the level of the paved sidewalk at its outer edge, or at such other
distance from the curblines as shall be approved by the Street and
Roads Engineer of the Borough of Riverton.
The driveway shall be of such thickness and solidity as to effectually
withstand the weight to which it is to be subjected. Where it crosses
a paved sidewalk of bricks, the bricks shall be set edgewise on a
solid foundation, and if it crosses a cement sidewalk, it shall be
of double the thickness of cement prescribed for sidewalks by the
Borough specifications.

The Streets and Roads Engineer of the Borough of Riverton may
also provide that the watercourse in the gutterway into which said
driveway shall open shall also be reinforced and strengthened.

The following fee is hereby established to be paid to the Borough
of Riverton for the permit and inspection by the Streets and Roads
Engineer pursuant to this article.
