A code regulating the installation, maintenance,
repair and control of the plumbing of buildings and the connection
thereof with outside sewers, cesspools or other receptacles; regulating
the practice of plumbing; and regulating the issuance of licenses
to practice plumbing is hereby established pursuant to the provisions
of P.L. 1950, c. 188 (N.J.S.A. 26:3-69.1 to 3-69.6). A copy of said
code is annexed hereto and made a part hereof without the inclusion
of the text thereof herein.
Said code established and adopted by this chapter
is described and commonly known as the "Plumbing Code of New Jersey
(Revised 1964)."
Three copies of said Plumbing Code of New Jersey
(Revised 1964), similarly marked, have been placed on file in the
office of the Clerk of this municipality, upon the introduction of
this chapter, and will remain on file in such office for the use and
examination of the public.
In connection with the provisions of this chapter
and the code hereby established and adopted as a part hereof, the
following fees shall be charged and received:
A. For the examination of any applicant for license as
master plumber: $100.
B. For the issuance and annual renewal of a license as
master plumber: $15.
C. For the filing of plans for proposed plumbing work:
$2.
D. For the issuance of a permit for proposed plumbing
construction or alteration: a fee of $5 for each fixture is hereby
established.
E. For the issuance of a permit for the replacement of
a plumbing fixture: no fee shall be charged.
F. For each reinspection of plumbing work caused by the
failure of the licensee to comply with the provisions of the code
or permit issued: $10.
G. For the issuance of a plumbing permit for a commercial
building: $25, plus $5 for each fixture.
H. For the issuance of a plumbing permit for all multiple
units, including condominiums, townhouses and apartments: $25, plus
$5 for each fixture.
I. For the issuance of a permit for swimming pools:
(2) Partly or wholly below the surface of the ground:
$20.
Any person or persons, firm or corporation violating
any of the provisions of this chapter or of the Plumbing Code of New
Jersey (Revised 1964), made a part hereof, shall, upon conviction
thereof, pay a penalty of not less than $5 nor more than $500, for
each offense.
All fees, penalties and moneys collected under
any provisions of this chapter or the code established herein shall
be paid to the Treasurer of the municipality.
All permits issued pursuant to this chapter,
and its amendments thereto, shall expire no later than one year from
the date of its issuance.
