The Board of Supervisors of Union Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, did, pursuant to the Municipality Authorities Act of 1945, Act of May 2, 1945, P.L. 382,[1] authorize the creation of the Union Township Municipal Authority by resolution dated July 5, 1972, and did, pursuant to a resolution dated March 5, 1973, file with the Secretary of the Commonwealth, the Articles of Incorporation for the Union Township Municipal Authority.
A. 
Resolution No. 5 of July 5, 1972, expressing the intent and desire of the Union Township Board of Supervisors to create a Municipal Authority under the Municipality Authorities Act of 1945 and Resolution No. 8 of March 5, 1973, authorizing the Secretary of Union Township to execute and submit to the Secretary of the Commonwealth the Articles of Incorporation for the said Municipal Authority, are hereby adopted as Ordinance 77-13 with all of the terms and conditions as set forth in said Resolution No. 5 and said Resolution No. 8.

Resolution No. 5 of July 5, 1972 and Resolution No. 8 of March 5, 1973, are hereby incorporated by reference as if set forth here in their entirety.[2]

The Board of Supervisors of Union Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, did, pursuant to the Municipality Authorities Act, 53 P.S. § 5601 et seq., as amended, authorize the creation of the Geigertown Area Joint Authority, for the purposes of providing sanitary sewer service only within the Geigertown limited service area, by Resolution 2010-20, adopted May 15, 2010, with similar action having been taken by the Board of Supervisors of the Township of Robeson by Resolution No. 2010-11, also adopted on May 15, 2010, and the Township of Union, in conjunction with the Township of Robeson, did, pursuant to the aforementioned resolutions, file with the Secretary of the Commonwealth the Articles of Incorporation for the Geigertown Area Joint Authority, with said Articles being accepted on May 28, 2010, by the Pennsylvania Department of State.

Resolution 2010-20 of the Township of Union, authorizing the formation of the Geigertown Area Joint Authority, and further authorizing the Chairman of the Union Township Board of Supervisors to execute and file the Articles of Incorporation in the form attached to the resolution, is hereby incorporated by reference as more fully set forth herein, with Resolution 2010-20 and the Articles of Incorporation attached thereto, to remain in the files at the Township Offices, where they may be examined.
