A code regulating the installation, maintenance,
repair and control of the plumbing of buildings and the connection
thereof with outside sewers, cesspools or other receptacles, regulating
the practice of plumbing and the issuance of licenses to practice
plumbing, is hereby established pursuant to the provisions of Chapter
275, P.L. 1948. A copy of said code is annexed hereto and made a part
hereof without the inclusion of the text thereof herein.
The said code established and adopted by this
chapter is described and commonly known as the "Plumbing Code of New
Jersey (Revised 1964)."
Three copies of the said Plumbing Code of New
Jersey (Revised 1964), similarly marked, have been placed on file
in the office of the Clerk of this municipality upon the introduction
of this chapter and will remain on file in such office for use and
examination by the public.
In connection with the provisions of this chapter
and the code hereby established and adopted as a part hereof, the
following fees shall be charged and received:
A. For the examination of any applicant for a license
as a master plumber: $10.
B. For the issuance of a master plumber's license in
the first instance for an individual: $50; for annual renewal of each
such license: $25, provided it is renewed within 30 days after expiration
of prior license. Thereafter, if the license is renewed within two
years after its expiration: $50. If a licensee permits his license
to be elapsed for a two-year period or more, he must be reexamined
and pay an additional examination fee of $10.
C. For the issuance of a permit for a proposed plumbing
construction or alteration: $10; provided, however, that the said
ten-dollar fee shall include and be payment for the first five or
less fixtures in the premises. If the premises shall have more than
five fixtures, such fixtures over the number of five shall be charged
for at a rate or fee of $0.75 per fixture.
D. For the issuance of a permit for the replacement of
a plumbing fixture: $2.
E. For each reinspection of plumbing work caused by the
failure of the licensee to comply with the provisions of the Plumbing
Code or permit issued: $5.
F. For the issuance of a permit for the proposed water
service piping for connection to the public water supply and for the
inspection thereof: $3.
Any person or persons, firm or corporation violating
any of the provisions of this chapter or of the Plumbing Code of New
Jersey (Revised 1964) made a part hereof shall, upon conviction thereof,
pay a penalty of not less than $2 nor more than $100 for each offense.
All fees, penalties and moneys collected under
any provision of this chapter or the code established herein shall
be paid to the Treasurer of the municipality.
