The uses which are listed in this section are prohibited in the Village and shall not be deemed to resemble any use permitted by right or permitted with conditions.
A. 
Industrial uses and heavy industry involving primary production of the following:
(1) 
Asphalt, cement, charcoal and fuel briquettes.
(2) 
Chemicals: aniline dyes, ammonia, carbide, caustic soda, cellulose, chlorine, carbon black and bone black, creosote, hydrogen and oxygen, industrial alcohol, nitrates (manufactured and natural) of an explosive nature, potash, plastic materials and synthetic resins, pyroxilin, rayon, yarn and hydrochloric, nitric, phosphoric, picric and sulfuric acids.
(3) 
Coal, coke and tar products, including gas manufacturing; explosives; fertilizers; gelatin, glue, size and adhesives.
(4) 
Linoleum and oil cloth; matches; paints, varnishes and turpentine.
(5) 
Rubber (natural or synthetic); soaps, including fat rendering; starch.
B. 
The following processes: tanneries; crematoria; nitrating of cotton or other materials; milling or processing of flour, feed or grain; magnesium foundry; reduction, refining, smelting and alloying of metal or metal ores; refining secondary aluminum; refining petroleum products, such as gasoline, kerosene, naphtha, lubricating oil; distillation of wood or bones; and reduction and processing of wood pulp and fiber, including paper mill operations.
C. 
Operations involving kennels, stockyards and slaughterhouses, grain elevators, slag piles and keeping, breeding and raising of pigs, cattle or other animals. This restriction shall not be construed to prohibit the keeping of a reasonable number of common household pets.
D. 
Storage of explosives, except under license from the State of New York and in a manner and place conforming to the laws of the State of New York and the American Table of Distances, and provided that no more than one day's supply is stored in any one location.
E. 
Bulk or wholesale storage of gasoline above ground.
F. 
Dumps, sanitary landfills, resource facilities and junkyards, solid waste management facilities and solid waste management, except those operated by the Village.

G. 
Quarries, stone crushers, screening plants and storage of quarry screenings.
H. 
Incineration of waste materials except in a plant owned and operated by the Village.
I. 
Disposal of septic or sewage wastes.
J. 
Tattoo parlors or other unlicensed establishments which engage in cosmetic body piercing.

K. 
Any other use, whether specified above or not, that is of such a nature as to be detrimental to neighboring properties by reason of emission of excessive odor, dust, refuse matter, traffic, garbage, smoke, vibration, gas, radiation, noise, light, glare or any other factor that is dangerous to the comfort, peace, enjoyment, health or safety of the area or the community.
A. 
The following uses may be permitted to continue after the effective date of this chapter, if lawfully existing on and before such date, but shall not thereafter be established in any district or in the districts specified. Such enumerated uses shall be deemed to include but shall not be limited to:
(1) 
Car and van washes.
(2) 
Amusement arcades and similar places of amusement.
(3) 
Outdoor archery and rifle shooting ranges.
(4) 
Rail, motor, bus and other fleet, freight and storage areas for vehicles greater than 20 feet in length.
(5) 
Rooming houses.
(6) 
Motels.

(7) 
Any drive-through-type service utilized in connection with a restaurant or portion thereof.
(8) 
All outdoor sales, entertainment and product demonstration activities, except concerts, carnivals, bazaars or fairs otherwise authorized or subject to licensing or permit by the Village.
(9) 
The outdoor sale and/or display of merchandise, produce, refreshments or foods, whether from any exterior counter, open or partially open building or tent, unless otherwise authorized or subject to licensing or permit by the Village.
(10) 
Folding, rolling, sliding or fixed doors, panels or grilles on the exterior face of any building used solely for security.
(11) 
Pawn broker, check cashing establishment and hookah lounge.

(12) 
Outdoor repair or painting of motor vehicles or repair of machines, except for emergency work.
(13) 
Trailer parks.
(14) 
Overnight camps.
(15) 
Transmitters used in connection with commercial radio and television stations.
(16) 
Any basement or cellar used for sleeping quarters in any R District, except as otherwise authorized by this chapter.
(17) 
Semiattached and attached single-family and two-family dwellings.
In addition to the foregoing prohibitions and restrictions prescribed by this article and by this chapter, the following regulations shall apply in all districts.
A. 
Any private roadways, i.e., those which are not intended to be dedicated to the Village or are not owned by the Village, shall not be less than 33 feet wide (two rods) and shall be constructed to standards specified by the Superintendent.
B. 
Public streets, i.e., those owned by the Village or intended for dedication to the Village, shall include a right-of-way of no less than 53 feet and a roadway not less than 33 feet (two rods).
C. 
Corner sight triangles. Intersecting roadways in all zoning districts shall have a corner sight triangle at every corner. Each sight triangle shall be bounded by the curbline and a diagonal line joining points on the curbline which are located 25 feet from the point of the actual or projected intersection of the edges of the curbline as shown in Figure 1 below.[1] No fence, sign, planting, hedge or other obstruction to vision, exceeding three feet in height, measured from the grade of the curbline shall be erected or maintained within the sight triangle described herein. This restriction shall not apply to existing buildings, public utility poles, traffic control devices, natural grades or signposts (see Figure 1).
