All soil, waste lines, conductors, cast-iron
sewers or house drains shall be made watertight and gastight and tested
with water or air from a test T in the building inside the front wall
of premises.
When necessary to test soil pipe, waste lines,
sewer and house drains separately, then the sewer and house drain
shall be tested with at least a five-foot head. Soil and waste lines
shall be tested from a test branch at base of stacks.
In buildings of over six stories in height,
every additional test shall be made from a test branch until a complete
test has been made of all soil, waste and vent lines in building and
all joints must be made watertight and gastight. Any material discovered
defective shall be immediately removed and replaced with sound material.
All tests must be made by the plumber in the
presence of the Inspector of Plumbing.
