A. 
The health and well-being of every employee is of vital importance. Therefore, the Authority will strive to maintain its facilities in as safe a manner as is reasonably possible.
B. 
Employees are encouraged to immediately report to their supervisor any condition which could lead to an accident or is causing an unsafe situation.
C. 
Employees are required to operate all equipment in a safe and proper manner.
D. 
Employees are issued personal safety equipment and are required to utilize that equipment whenever the situation dictates. Training will be provided in the proper use of all safety equipment.
A. 
Regular attendance during all scheduled hours of work, i.e., reporting for work on time and continuing to work until the end of the work period, is expected of every employee. Unsatisfactory attendance, including reporting late, leaving early or taking unauthorized breaks during the work period is cause for disciplinary action, including discharge.
B. 
If you cannot report to work or if you are going to be late, call your supervisor as much in advance as possible. State why you will be late or absent and how long you expect to be absent.
Employees who are absent from work due to extreme weather conditions will not be considered in violation of Authority policy. You must, however, inform your supervisor as soon as possible of your expected absence. Within that pay period you must indicate to your supervisor one of the following alternatives:
A. 
Receive no compensation for the day not worked.
B. 
Use that day taken as a vacation/personal day.
C. 
Make up the time within the same pay period.
A. 
The Authority pays its employees biweekly. Each workweek begins on Monday at 12:01 a.m. and ends the following Sunday at 12:00 midnight.
B. 
Paychecks are distributed on the Wednesday following the end of each two-week period. If a payday falls on a holiday, checks will be distributed on the day before the holiday. No checks will be issued in advance except when an employee is going on vacation. Requests for vacation pay must be received by the deadline for the last time card prior to going on vacation. Time cards (for the treatment plant employees) must be completed and submitted to your supervisor by 12:00 noon of the working day on the Monday before payday. Time sheets (for Administration Building employees) should be completed and submitted to the senior staff accountant by 12:00 noon of the working day on the Monday before payday.
C. 
The Authority is required by law to deduct certain items from your pay. These deductions include but are not limited to federal withholding tax, FICA, state income tax and local wage tax. In addition to these deductions required by law, the Authority does have certain fringe benefits whose cost is shared by the Authority and the employee. If you voluntarily choose to participate in one or more of these benefit programs, your share of the cost will be deducted from your pay.
D. 
Any questions concerning your paycheck should be brought to the attention of your supervisor immediately. If any adjustments in pay are necessary, these adjustments will be made in the next paycheck.
The following are examples of willful misconduct which constitute a violation of Authority regulations and, if violated, will be cause for discipline, including discharge.
A. 
Discourteous behavior to the public.
B. 
Willful refusal to carry out job duties or any reasonable request of a supervisor.
C. 
Deliberate or reckless action which causes actual or potential injury or loss to the Authority, fellow employees, Authority property or employee property.
D. 
Disregard for safety regulations; failure to report an on-the-job accident or injury.
E. 
Falsification of records or disclosure of confidential information.
F. 
Misappropriation of Authority funds or other assets, including borrowing Authority equipment without prior permission.
G. 
Failure to notify supervisor when absent or late.
H. 
Continual lateness for work or absenteeism.
I. 
Failure to perform work in a satisfactory manner.
J. 
Improper conduct or abusive language.
K. 
Unauthorized purchasing.
L. 
Misrepresentation during the hiring process.
M. 
Use of or being under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances during working hours.

A. 
Compensatory time is permitted within the following limits:
(1) 
It can be accumulated up to a total of two hours within a specific pay period.
(2) 
Any accumulated time must be used within the pay period in which it was earned.
(3) 
Accumulated time cannot be carried over into another pay period.
B. 
Working at home on Authority business cannot be counted toward the minimum of 40 hours' work required of all employees, nor can working at home be used to accumulate compensatory time. No compensatory day off will be given for working a scheduled holiday.
