Except as otherwise provided in this section, no person shall carry or have in his or her possession alcoholic beverages on any of the streets, sidewalks, parks or other public places within the Village of Hamilton, with the intent of such person, or another, to consume alcoholic beverages in such places. The provisions of this section shall not apply to persons possessing or consuming alcoholic beverages in areas and at times specifically authorized by a Hooks Wiltsie Pavilion/Ball Field use permit issued by the Mayor and Village Clerk, nor to a sidewalk restaurant permit or an event permit approved by resolution of the Village of Hamilton Board of Trustees, nor to authorized "tastings" or "samplings" of alcoholic beverages provided by authorized vendors at the Hamilton Farmers' Market, or at any similar event specifically sponsored or authorized by resolution of the Village of Hamilton Board of Trustees.
Any person who violates any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by the penalties set forth in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article II.
