The Board of Trustees of the Village of Shortsville does hereby create and organize a Fire Department in and for said Village in accordance with the Village Law, which Fire Department shall be known as the "Village of Shortsville Fire Department."

The Fire Department and/or fire companies of the municipality are authorized and permitted to go to aid another city, village, town or fire district, or territory outside of a city, village or fire district, in extinguishing a fire or fires therein, provided that the head of the Fire Department or, in his absence, the next ranking officer thereof, shall have authorized the extension of such aid after a request therefor shall have been made.
