The term of office of the Mayor and of the Trustees of the Village of Shortsville shall be four years, commencing after the expiration of the terms of the present incumbents.
Village elections for the election of the Mayor and the Trustees shall be held biennially on the third Tuesday in March in even-numbered years, commencing on the third Tuesday in March 1970.
Pursuant to § 3-302, Subdivision 5a, of the Village Law, the term of office for the Mayor and the Trustee to be elected at the Village election to be held on March 18, 1969, shall be three years and the term of office for their successors, to be elected at the Village election to be held on the third Tuesday in March 1972 and in all subsequent elections, shall be four years. The term of office of the Trustee to be elected on the third Tuesday in March 1970 shall be four years.
Notice of the adoption of this chapter shall be published in the official newspaper of the Village within 10 days of its adoption and a copy thereof shall be conspicuously posted in at least six public places in the Village.[1]

The Village Clerk/Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to publish and post such notice pursuant to the provisions of this chapter and the provisions of the Village Law, in such case made and provided.
